In the Mood 4 Music and Beau Ties!

This past long weekend I attended the oh so swank Mood Music and Bow Tie parties. Mood Music is a well established party thats been happening for over a year now and is hosted by The Upper Echeon and TriClu Ent. This oh so sweet party was the best way to celebrate Valentines Day whether you were with your boo or your close friends it was a chill vibe with great music and even greater people.

Bow Tie was a first time event brought to you by Knoc & Hue. This event was one of a kind, it brought out a certain sophistication in the people who attended. As for the title Beau Ties were the theme of the night and they were EVERYWHERE on men, woman, on all. The night was also a bday celebration for Duane Bobbsemple the brains behind the estravaganza.
The two events were a definite break away from the typical parties that we are forced to deal with here in T.O. I.e. under agers and fights were nowhere to be seen. If you didnt get a chance to make it out this time, make sure the next time you see an invite to one of these parties on your facebook page, you rsvp ASAP.
Toodles.

GQ Top Ten Stylish Men in America!

"We tapped into the worlds of music, art, film and beyond to assemble a collection of guys we can all take our cues from. No royals, no socialites, no pretty-boy actors—just real men with real style" -GQ.com

Justin T.

"The man who helped bring fedoras—and sweater vests, and beards, and three-piece suits, and skinny ties—back."

Mark Ronson

"Ronson wears the of-the-moment uniform—slim suit, skinny tie—in such a way that doesn’t make you want to punch him. How? He respects details like the taper of the pants and the length of the tie—and he backs the Mr. Success look up with actual success."

T.I.

"The Atlanta-based rapper rejects hip-hop’s merry-go-round of trends in favor of tailored blazers, jeans of distinctly hip-hopian proportions, and one trademark: a hat cocked at an extreme angle. Only problem now? He’s due for prison time. But look for him to pick up where he left off—fashionwise, anyway—the day he gets out."

Ed Ruscha (and son)

"For twenty-five years, all I bought was used clothing. The only extravagance was that I had a couple of sequined cowboy shirts made. I don’t like all-black and I don’t wear suits and ties that often. When I do wear a tie, it’s usually a bolo tie. I have a collection of ’em—I like those little strings that dangle.”

André Balazs

"If you’ve ever set foot on an André Balazs property—the legendary Chateau Marmont, say—you know his philosophy: Style isn’t about exclusivity or trends; it’s about honesty, authenticity, and above all else, comfort."

Glenn O'Brien

"Find us an icon of New York’s punk/new-wave scene who looks as bold today as he did in 1978. Fact is, most are dead, washed-up, or worse—banking. The secret to Glenn O’Brien’s style longevity: He hasn’t strayed from his roots."

Kanye West

"Stylistically, Kanye no longer seems like a sugar-deprived kid in a candy store. Yes, he’s still flashy and attitudinal. Whereas he used to look like he was flaunting all those luxury labels, now he looks like he’s expressing himself through them."

Sid Mashburn

“My look is kind of an amalgam of different things: European, preppy, southern. Preppy is oftentimes pejorative, but if you really boil it down, it’s nothing more than classic clothes—a pair of khaki pants, a Shetland sweater.”

Alex Lubomirski

"Lubomirski is a photographer you could easily mistake for a model—one cast in a fashion spread called “How to Achieve Timeless Elegance in a Blue Shirt and Jeans.” Born in England and raised in France and Botswana, he’s worldly enough to pull off undoing that third shirt button."

Jason Schuwartzmann (3rd from left)

"Even when he was an awkward kid playing an even more awkward kid in Rushmore, you could tell Jason Schwartzman had style. Behold, a decade or so later he’s an ace at looking cool in a suit."

What I love most about this selection is the diversity. Being PLuSH, fashionable, stylish and elegant is being unique and confident. Let your personality shine through your style. Plush LOVES GQ men with style!

The New 2009 BMW Concept Car!!!

>Give me this in Red or Black and I know I'll make a statement! >This is the latest {2009} concept car from BMW. Known for it's progressive activity, they say this car is designed less for a specific market, and more for a customer who needs all the utility of an SUV, minivan or wagon but would not want the association with those types of vehicles. >With first class seats and a two-way trunk this 5 series gran turismo beemer will be made to hit the mean streets...so look out for it.
>I can smell the fresh leather interior from here

H&M has announced that the next guest designer will be Matthew Williamson, the British designer who is most famouse for his colour-drenched collections. First to hit stores on April 23 will be a exclusive womans fashion line; and, in mid May the whole womans and mens collectoin will hit stores world-wide. In an exclusive for H&M, Williamson will debut his first ever menswear pieces.

Matthew Williamson burst onto the London fashion scene in 1997, with a colorful collection modelled by Kate Moss, Helena Christensen and Jade Jagger. Since then, Williamson has brought the party lifestyle of the global traveller to the catwalks of the fashion world; most recently at New York Fashion Week. His clothes are worn regularly by PLuSHanistas such as Sienna Miller, Keira Knightley, Kate Hudson and Gwyneth Paltrow. Last year he was honoured with an exhibition at the Design Museum in London. http://www.hm.com/us/press/pressreleases/fashion/fashionpressrelease.ahtml?pressreleaseid=721&nodeid=334
If you are interested in getting your hands on some luxurious but affordable pieces, that will last you a lifetime, make sure to keep your eyes open for billboards and adds with more info. Oh and when the line is finally launched make sure you get out there early- in the past when H&M has had guest designers there have been crazy lines filled with hardcore fashion lovers that will do anything to get their hands on that rare peice.
